Warped Justice is Kevin Schwartz's debut novel, and it is a legal thriller about revenge and murder. About The Book

Publication Date: January 20, 2016

The law will protect you. Until it doesn't.

When Peter Garrison's failed defense of a client leads to a retribution plot against him, he's forced to confront a nemesis intent on destroying him. Jason Felding seeks payback after his teenage brother winds up sodomized and mentally scarred during an unfair incarceration. He targets the restaurant owner who put his sibling behind bars and the lawyer who couldn't get a simple underage drinking case dropped. Obsessed with justice, Jason murders the snitch and, in an elaborate ruse, frames Peter as the killer.

Peter finds himself the prime suspect in a murder that rocks the small town of Quincy, Vermont, a cruel irony since he left his firm frustrated that guilty clients sometimes escape punishment, while innocent ones are convicted. With the help of a crafty private investigator, Peter vows to solve the crime and save his reputation. But as Peter closes in on the truth, both he and his new girlfriend may be next on Jason’s hit list.

Interview with Chelsea Cameron, Author of Jager

Tell us a little bit about your new release, Jager.

Jagger is the youngest of the Caldwell brothers and probably the one with the biggest heart of them all. When he sees wrong – or in this case hears wrongdoing – he’s not one to sit back and do nothing. He’s definitely an actions speak louder than words kind of man.

Who are your literary heroes working today? Why do you admire them?

My literary heroes working today – Kristen Ashley. I admire her drive, her dedication, and her talents to build these worlds that many overlap always giving the reader more of the characters they love.

Who is your favorite couple from literature?

My favorite couple from literature – Romeo and Juliet. The forbidden, the passion, the emotion, and the suspense all come together in a story that is unpredictable.

What's your favorite restaurant in Southern Louisiana?

Living in Louisiana is a culinary delight. I am a girl with a huge sweet tooth so my favorite restaurant is Café Du Monde in New Orleans because there is nothing better than a hot beignet from here.

If you had to pick one place to vacation for the rest of your life, where would you choose?

One place I would vacation for the rest of my life is Disney World. I’m a big kid at heart and no matter how many times I’ve gone there I never get enough or see everything.

Do you listen to anything while you write? If so, what's your audio of choice?

I’m a moody writer. Depending on my mood determines what I listen to. The content also effects my audio choices. If I’m working on a darker scene or book then I prefer silence so I can allow myself to dig deeper. If I’m needing to tune out noise (like my kids, love them but they are loud at times) then I listen to music. I love all genres of music so my playlists are all over the place.

What’s your favorite quote or scene from Right?

My favorite part to write in Jagger was Tatiana and the DIY projects for the house. I am addicted to the house flipping shows. In real life, I’m nowhere near crafty enough to do much for my house style. I enjoyed having that come out in her – and I really do hate wallpaper.

Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?

Just like the Caldwell Brothers series, I live by the motto ‘Be the good in a world full of bad.’ We all have a choice each and every day to wake up and be a positive impact on someone. It can be as simple as holding a door for a stranger that could turn their entire day around. You never know what anyone is really feeling or going through so do the little things because they could turn out to mean the most.

Interview with Jana Aston, Author of Right

Tell us a little bit about your new release, Right.

Right is my second novel and features the best friend from my first novel, Wrong. When I wrote Wrong I wasn’t sure if I’d even write a second book, but I knew if I did, it would be Everly’s story. She was even more fun to write than I expected her to be. She’s a handful, and not shy about blurting out her opinions. Everly has a really clear plan - and stalking agenda, for her future. In her novel the tables are turned on her and I love it so, so much.

What or who inspired you to become an author?

J.A. Huss! I’d been her assistant for well over a year before I picked up a pen. (Literally, my first book was written almost entirely by hand.) I’d lob ideas at her for books, some of which she liked and some of which drove her nuts, I’m sure. Her style is romantic suspense and mine is romantic comedy. I wanted her to write a book about a hot gynecologist. She told me thanks but no thanks, write that one yourself. So I did, determined it could be done. That turned into my first novel, Wrong.

Who is your favorite couple from literature?

Ana and Christian from Fifty Shades of Grey. Emma and Jack from Can You Keep A Secret.

What was the best part about quitting your day job to become a full time writer?

I did quit my day job to become a full time writer! Like a crazy lunatic. Who writes one book and then quits? This girl. I spent the last five years working at a call center. I hated it, but oddly it was a good job financially and benefit wise. So I thought twice before quitting. But then Wrong really took off and I just thought, screw it. The hours there were awful, and I needed the time to work on my second book, so I walked. So back to your question. The best part is, NO BOSS! And the coffee. It’s so much better at home than the stuff they offer in offices. My keurig and I are very happy together. Seriously though, I think it’s doing things how you want them done. I get to run my business exactly how I want. I don’t have to roll my eyes at company policy or get pissed off about how things are run.

If you had an extra hour each day, how would you spend it?

Relaxing. I feel like I spend all my time in front of a computer.

Where is your happy place? Why does it bring you joy?

Starbucks, Disney World, London. On the simple end, Starbucks. Especially when I did have a day job. If I didn’t have time to stop and get a venti iced coffee, my day was shot. I needed that treat to get through the morning. Disney World, I am such a nerd, huh? I just love it. It’s peaceful to me, I’m not sure I can explain it. It’s like home. London, I knew I loved London before I even went there the first time. I think I was English in a past life. Sometimes you travel and you think, that was fun, but no way would I live there. And sometimes you travel and think, I could have lived there my whole life. That’s London to me. Also, the accent. Dies.

What’s your favorite quote or scene from Right?

Oh, good question! There are so many moments that I love in this book. I’ll leave you with this one. “It’s okay to rewrite your happily ever after, Everly. Sometimes the right guy is the one you never see coming."
