Indie Author Day 2016 Coming to a Library Near You

04 Oct 2016

Written Word Media is proud to be a partner of the inaugural Indie Author Day celebration taking place at libraries across the U.S. and Canada. This is an opportunity for the indie community to come together in the library to help local authors get discovered and for readers to find great new books from local writers. Beyond the inaugural event that will be happening on October 8th, 2016, the Indie Author Day community will offer programming on the indieauthorday.com website to help libraries and authors stay connected throughout the year.

Events happening at libraries include poetry readings, panel discussions, book signings, workshops and more. This is your chance to learn and explore the talent in your own community while getting a chance to meet your favorite indie authors in an intimate setting!

In addition to the activities that will be happening at your local library, there will be a live streaming panel presentation featuring industry leaders Jon Fine, previously from Amazon, Robin Cutler of IngramSpark, Kiera Parrott of Library Journal, Library Journal 2012 Mover and Shaker Jim Blanton of Louisville Free Public Library and the 2016 Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA) Literary Ebook Award recipient L. Penelope. This portion of the event will be taking place at 2 PM EST. This panel can be viewed at home computers or at a local library.
