What can you tell us about your new release, Accidental Hero?

This is a story with a hard-fought Happily Ever After, and I do mean HARD. Brent’s history is so messed up he doesn’t even know he needs chemistry with a good woman to fix it. And Blue, although her demons are a little more down to Earth, she doesn’t know how big the hole is in her life waiting to be filled.

Not until she meets the tall, growly, hard-as-nails single dad who keeps showing up in the back of her art class. He’s mysterious, he’s hot, and one little kiss later, he’s a very big part of her life.

What’s on your top 5 list for the best books you’ve ever read?

Anything by Kristen Ashley or Sabrina Paige. They’re two of my favorite badass writers in romance. Also Bared to You by Sylvia Day for just mastering the sleek, sexy billionaire hero. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes for introducing me to feelings I didn’t know a book could cause. Richard Preston’s The Hot Zone for being terrifying and way too real.

Say you’re the host of a literary talk show. Who would be your first guest? What would you want to ask?

Margaret Mitchell. I’d love to know what it was like selling truckloads of romance novels and having one made into an early feature film. Then I’d ask her why the hell I’m able to resurrect the dead for interviews.

BAM. You’re a superhero. What’s your superpower?

Finishing a novel a week and still getting my grocery shopping done. You know, the dream.

Where is your happy place? Why does it bring you joy?

Anywhere quiet with a good view and lots of green. I work best when the muse in nature is only a glance away.

What scene in Accidental Hero was your favorite to write?

When Blue goes out to the ranch for the first time with Brent and Natalie. I adore the buildup, the discovery, and when the tensions between the hero and heroine get so thick they just can’t stand it. It’s a delicate kind of torture for the characters. But when it’s done just right, like it is here, the payoff is.
