Interview with Addison Cain, author of The Golden Line
22 Jan 2019
What can you tell us about your new release, The Golden Line?
The Golden Line is a brand new Omegaverse series that’s exciting and dark but with a more romantic edge. Each book is a standalone in the same universe. It’s a rough road, by HEA guaranteed.
What or who inspired you to become an author?
Fanfiction! That’s where I got my start ages ago. The community is so supportive and really rallied behind me when I was ready for traditional publishing. Here’s a big shout out to you, the original fans!
What’s on your top 5 list for the best books you’ve ever read?
- The Silver Devil by Teresa Denys
- The Stranger I Married by Sylvia Day
- The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning
- The Dune Series by Frank Herbert
- Anything Douglas Adams
Say you’re the host of a literary talk show. Who would be your first guest? What would you want to ask?
Elizabeth Báthory, and I’d want to know all the details of the church’s crusade to smear her name. How much of her history was written by men who wanted the lands of a noble woman who refused to remarry? How much was real?
What’s your favorite thing about writing?
That authors can literally write anything we want to spice up our day. Real life boring you? Check out this glittery murder unicorn! Don’t see one of those every day, now do ya?
What is a typical day like for you?
I write full time while taking care of my toddler. We have a lot of fun, get some good romps in with our dog, and then cuddle the cat. Between he cute moments, I am frantically trying to get words down. Actually, don’t believe the lies I wrote above. It’s utter chaos, but I wouldn’t change a thing. #BestJobEver
What scene in The Golden Line was your favorite to write?
The first meeting between the H and h. It’s completely unexpected and really makes the story unique in my eyes.
Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?
Write for yourself! Be true to your vision.
