Hot on Ice: Romance Reads For a Cause

22 Mar 2017

I am so excited to be here today! Thanks for having me over to talk about Blade, my story in the Hot on Ice: A Hockey Romance Anthology, and the Homes for Troops charity that sales of the anthology will go to support!

First, let me warn you about Blade. If you like beta heroes, wimpy heroines, closed door sexy times, and boring plots then this is NOT the book for you. Nope. Just skip it in the anthology.

Okay, are all those people gone? Good! Let me tell you about Blade.

Bad girl Gillie Pike has gone straight, but someone with a lot of money wants to bring her out of retirement to steal the championship Cup and make sure it’s found in Cajun Rage’s star goalie Flynn Kazakov’s possession. They call him Crazy-kov for a reason and nothing makes him more nuts than his best friend’s sexy little sister who swears she’s the only one who can keep him out of jail and on the ice. It’s a fun, fast-paced, sexy second chance love story with an almost kidnapping, betrayal and blueberry beer. In other words, it’s all the things I love in a romance and I hope you do too!

But what’s even better than reading a hot, sexy romance like Blade? If by reading that story you’re helping people in real life. That’s the case with Hot on Ice: A Hockey Romance Anthology, which includes Blade. Twenty percent of all royalties earned from the anthology will go to Homes for Troops, a nonprofit organization that builds mortgage-free, specially-adapted homes nationwide for severely injured veterans.

“Most of these veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI),” Home for Troops states. “These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar has gone directly to our program services for veterans. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives.”

Wow, right? I’m so proud to be a part of Hot on Ice, not just because it’s 18 hot hockey stories by some of my favorite romance authors, but also because it’s raising money for such a worthy charity. Now that’s what I call great reading for a great cause!
