Interview with C. A. Phipps, Author of Witchy Awakening

What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Witchy Awakening?

I have written cozy mysteries for a few years and got invited into an anthology for paranormal cozy mysteries. While I hadn’t written any I jumped at the chance as there is often a little bit of something magical in my cozies anyway.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Witchy Awakening, what would they be?

You don’t Own Me / Independent Woman / Brave

What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

I read a lot of different genres, but love Cozy Mysteries and Women’s Fiction.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

Dizzy Spells by Morgana Best and Westerham Witches by Dionne Lister.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

When the cat talks, Jess’s reaction always makes me laugh.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I follow the sun around the house and eavesdrop at cafes!

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

Love what you do!

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

Life is not static and we all have to bend now and again, otherwise something will snap.
