The Man Booker International Prize Longlist for 2017 has just been announced, which celebrates some of the finest works of translated fiction from around the world.
The prestigious prize is awarded to either a novel or short-story collection that has been translated into English and sold in the UK. The winner gets a prize of £50,000, which is split evenly between the author and the translator. Out of 126 entries, the panel of five judges selected 13 titles for the longlist.
The shortlist of six books will be announced on 20 April and the winner will be selected on 14 June at a formal dinner at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
