Interview with Vivian Wood, author of Dr. Hottie

12 Feb 2018

What can you tell us about your new release, Dr. Hottie?

It’s the story of Jack and Addy, who get WILDLY drunk one night and wake up married.

What or who inspired you to become an author?

I’ve always been an author, I think. When I was little, I would gather everybody at my grandparents’ house, and orate to them. The idea of not being an author never occurred to me!

Who are your literary heroes working today? Why do you admire them?

I’m pretty into Margaret Atwood and Michael Chabon. I like how full their worlds are, how much thought and time goes into them.

What’s your favorite thing about writing?

Coming up with new ideas! I have ideas coming out my ears.

What’s a typical day like for you?

Every day is a little different, but mainly I just sit at my desk and write! I wish there was a special recipe, but there is not. I do find that writing is best in the evening

If you had an extra hour each day, how would you spend it?

Duh, WRITING!

What scene in Dr. Hottie was your favorite to write?

When Jack and Addy first have sex. The sort of angsty will-they-or-won’t they feeling is relieved, if only for a minute.
