Interview with Shane Lege, Author of Thalondor Kingdom of Legends

17 Oct 2023

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Thalondor Kingdom of Legends?

I have always wondered if I had the ability to write an entire book. I knew it would not be easy, but I wanted to see if I had the ability to complete the process. The genre was because I like fantasy-type novels.

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

Fantasy, Sci-Fi, LITRPG. Yes, this is a fantasy book.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

I am currently writing the second book of the Thalondor series. I am approximately 30K words into the new book and I hope to have it finished by the end of the calendar year. Following the second book, I will be writing the third book in the series, and I am still debating if book three will be the final version of the Thalondor series.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

I didn’t really have a favorite, as they each took on a story of their own.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

No quirky habits for writing. I just write when I have the opportunity.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

Five years from now seems like a long way away. However, a decade seems like it was yesterday. Imagine where you would be if you started something a decade ago. So quit waiting to start because you think five years is too far away.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

This is my very first novel and I have learned so much. I understand the question was more about the book, but I would imagine that most authors will always remember their first novel. Even though, it probably was not the best novel they ever wrote.
