What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write this book?
Having endured spiritual abuse in the church and witnessed my friends' lives being shattered, I turned to scripture for guidance. I was surprised to discover that the Greek word exousia, meaning "authority" and "power," applies to both God's kingdom and Satan's. A crucial question emerged: if you can't distinguish between the power and authority of these two kingdoms, how can you possibly know which kingdom's power and authority you are submitting to? Submitting to the wrong one will wreck your life. This book chronicles my journey, from being raised in legalism to experiencing spiritual abuse as a young adult, and ultimately to finding the truth in scripture about the biblically ordained purpose for spiritual authority. Knowing this truth will set believers free from the kingdom of darkness, enabling them to live in the freedom of Christ's salvation.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
The False Altar, Chapter 9. I came to understand how legalism infiltrates a church, causing people to adhere to man-made rules. This diverts them from focusing on a relationship with Christ and submitting to authorities to fulfill their agenda. This creates a divide between people and God, making them susceptible to Satan's perspective on authority, which will separate them from God and ruin their lives. I thoroughly define, using the words of Jesus, the difference in authority between these two kingdoms, exposing false teachers masquerading as ministers of the light.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I usually get up very early when everything is quiet.

Keep God First.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
That I encouraged them to do the most important thing in the Bible: Honor the first commandment above all else!
