Tell us a little bit about your new release, Life After Perfect.

Life After Perfect just came out on May 19th. I’m so tickled with readers response to the new book. This book is a departure from my Adams Grove series, although it is tied to another small town. There’s not a thread of suspense in this story either, but I love Katy and Derek. They are two people who’ve got some serious stuff to deal with, but when their paths unexpectedly cross. . . good things happen. It’s a story of second chances, hope, and being brave enough to try again.

If you had an extra hour each day, how would you spend it??

A whole hour. Wow…I’d spend it outside daydreaming. There’s never enough time to just let everything go and do nothing. That’s definitely how I’d spend it.

What or who inspired you to become an author?

My mother was always writing. She’s an amazing poet and even had a couple songs recorded along the way. So, creativity was just part of how I grew up. It wasn’t until I was going through some rough patches in my own life that I realized what a gift it was for an author to be able to sweep me away for a little while. Jayne Ann Krentz novels got me through some very dark times. Her novels kept my life in balance when everything was in chaos. They left me with hope, and renewed strength. I want to be that for someone else. To re-gift the power that I got from those books to someone else.

If you had to pick one place to vacation for the rest of your life, where would you choose?

Now that one is hard. I have a bucket list of places I still want to go! I’m headed to Alaska this summer. While I’m on that coast I’ll visit Seattle for the first time, too. Alright, so if I had to pick ONE place to vacation for the rest of my life it better be somewhere that’s a sure thing. Mackinac Island, MI at Grand Hotel.

What’s on your writing desk?

Too much!

  • A desk lamp. I need good light.
  • My Mac and an array of USB/power cords for all my electronic gadgets.
  • At-A-Glance 2015 Weekly Planner – yes the paper kind!
  • A stack of “to be filed” stuff. Bills to pay and things to take action on.
  • A crystal goblet full of red marbles on the back left. That’s the spot for wealth and prosperity.
  • Two cups of ink pens and markers
  • A coaster.

Great. Now I need to stop and clean up my desk.

What are you currently craving?

Same thing I always crave – Krispy Kreme Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled Doughnuts.

Who is your favorite fictional character from literature?

Nancy Drew. Smart, savvy and nothing ever got past her.

How do you like to spend a rainy day?

In my jammies being lazy.

Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?

Clean living pays off.
