Interview with Lea Hart, author of Tumult

24 Apr 2018

What can you tell us about your new release, Tumult?

Tumult is a sexy romantic adventure about a woman who is about to take on the biggest challenge of her life, and the man willing to make sure she comes out of it alive. A smart, feisty heroine meets a dominant hero and the result is explosive.

What or who inspired you to become an author?

I was inspired to become a writer because I wanted to make sure my second act was spent doing something I love.

What books would we be surprised to find on your shelves?

My bookshelves are eclectic and stuffed with everything from Jennifer Crusie, Milan Kindera and Dan DeSilva novels.

Who is your favorite couple from literature?

My favorite couple from literature would have to be Rhoda and Malcom from Net of Jewels by Ellen Gilchrist.

What’s your favorite thing about writing?

My favorite thing about writing is that it allows me to give a home to all the stories rolling around in my head.

What is a typical day like for you?

A typical day for me includes convincing my youngest daughter that dropping out of sixth grade isn’t an option and offering unsolicited advice to my oldest daughter. When those two things are accomplished, I bang out three thousand words and pray the muse hasn’t left.

What scene in Tumult was your favorite to write?

The scene when Carrick throws caution to the wind and flies to New York, surprising Audrey. It’s the moment when they give up the fight and go all in.

Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?

My motto is; Grace will take you where husting can’t.
