Interview with L. Steele, Author of The Billionaire’s Secret

03 Nov 2020

What can you tell us about your new release, The Billionaire’s Secret?

It’s the hottest, angstiest novel I have written. Saint the main character blew me away. He took the reins and ran with it… until he met Victoria who brought him to his knees.

What or who inspired you to become an author?

It’s the only thing I have ever wanted to be since I can remember.

What’s on your top 5 list for the best books you’ve ever read?

Pam Godwin’s – Deliver Series
Jessica Hawkins – Something in the Way
LJ Shen – Vicious
Pepper Winters – Tears of Tess
JA Huss – Eighteen

Say you’re the host of a literary talk show. Who would be your first guest? What would you want to ask?

I’d love to interview all five of the authors mentioned above about their writing process, how they get the lightbulb moments while writing, what they do when they hit a wall in the writing process.

What’s your favorite thing about writing?

The discipline of it. Kind of like a swordsmith. You wake up and you write… no matter what’s happening in your world, you write. There’s a certainty and yet an unpredictability to it that’s stimulating, and then you continuously challenge yourself to raise the bar.

What is a typical day like for you?

It’s chasing the words– trying to hit the goal, without overdoing it, and spending time with my husband in the evening.

What scene from The Billionaire’s Secret was your favorite to write?

When they first meet — and both of them are struck by the other… and Saint can’t understand why he is attracted to her; it’s never happened to him before.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

I try to live in the moment. It’s the closest you can get to peace and being content with yourself.
