What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Chancing Your Arm (The Mags Munroe Series Book 5)?
It is a cozy mystery set in Ireland where the central character is a fifty three year old female police sergeant. This is the fifth book in the series.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Chancing Your Arm (The Mags Munroe Series Book 5), what would they be?
“(Is This the Way to) Amarillo” by Neil Christie.
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
Thrillers, biographies, and historical fiction!
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
Long Island by Colm Tobín, the Briar Club by Kate Quinn, Hold your Breath by BP Walter, and Brave Men by Ernie Pyle.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
The scene where DI Duckie Cassidy is convinced he knows more about horses than anyone else and ends up in a very precarious situation.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I write in a glass office in my garden so i’m surrounded by nature which is lovely. But I write often late at night, or in the early hours. I got into that habit when I worked full time as a teacher and wrote on the side.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
The overwhelming majority of people are basically good and kind everywhere, and we all want the same thing, to be safe and comfortable. But that doesn’t sell newspapers,.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
We have far more in common as human beings than things that divide us, regardless of gender, geography, social class etc.
