What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write this book?
I've seen a few prison movies in the past, and more than a few romance movies, and wondered, what if I were to combine the two and write about a co-ed prison? Hence, the Coyote Valley series.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of your book, what would they be?
Unretrofied by Dillinger Escape Plan.
What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
I don't really like or dislike any genres; I just like or dislike individual books.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
Nyankees.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
Hard to pick just one! I did like writing the prom scenes, as well as any scene that featured sweet little Kawaii. And I always like wedding drama!
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
Not particularly, although I do often listen to music while writing.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Just because everything seems bad for Keri doesn't necessarily mean it'll stay that way... but if everything seems fine for her at the end, that doesn't necessarily mean it'll stay that way either!
