Interview with J. S. Keim, Author of Trouble At The Winston Hotel

23 Jul 2025

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Trouble At The Winston Hotel?

My husband’s job has always been in the hospitality industry, and we spent some time living part-time in a luxury hotel in Florida. I thought it would be fun to see the hotel from the perspective of a little mouse.

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

I like women’s fiction and have published over fifty bestselling books in that genre.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

My Kindle is full of hundreds of books waiting for me to read. Books by Susan Mallery, Susan Wiggs, and others.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

I loved the part where Theodore has to jump on the phone to make a call.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I work in my home office every day, with help from my two dachshunds who comfortably sleep nearby.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

Be honest and grateful for my readers.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

That it’s okay to have a little fun in your life, that we all need love and laughter.
