What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write this book?
I wanted to write the book I’m always searching the shelves for.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of your book, what would they be?
The one that’s not called “I Need a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler is the first to spring to mind, albeit my protagonist is the hero.
What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
The same: fun, frolics, and festivities in the English countryside.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
Too many books on my TBR pile, but if I had the time, I’m always happy to dive into Pride and Prejudice or a good Agatha Christie.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
The Affair, because it’s love at its simplest.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I tell my cat I write better if he sits with me to guilt-trip him into sitting with me.
Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?
There’s nothing wrong with smoking, drinking, and swearing if it leads to a good book.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
That there’s a window to their love of quintessential England through which they can always escape.
