What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write this book?
Other than vampire books, I always hunted for Heaven/Hell books as a reader. I held onto it because I wanted to do it justice, study my craft, and create something that was actually meaningful. Music really inspires my writing, and I usually lock in on a single song to help me breathe life into it.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of your book, what would they be?
“Run Rabbit” by Mollie Elizabeth
“All the Good Girls Go to Hell” by Billie Eilish
“Lucretia My Reflection” by The Sisters of Mercy
What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
I read widely, which I didn’t realize until this past release while chatting with other authors. I enjoy books that cleverly hint at tones and themes. Books that make me do the work.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
I’m working through The Knight and the Moth (audio) and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (Kindle).
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
The dance floor scene in Hell. I love a good dance floor scene. I can't seem to get away from them.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I tend to act out when I write facial expressions. My husband definitely laughs.
Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?
Jump and a net will appear.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
That no one can cage them.
