What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Hoodwinked in Hotlanta?
I have been fascinated by the ways that different states have handled the Covid-19 pandemic and I started thinking about a bunch of what-if questions, and then I realized why not write a book about it?
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
Fantasy. So far all of my books have been fantasy, though I am thinking about trying a thriller next.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
Millenium’s Rule by Trudi Canavan, Winter Lost by Patricia Briggs, and I’ve been thinking of re-reading some of my Phillip Pullman books.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
One of the last fights at the climax of the book where Josh is using his kickboxing skills.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I love listening to loud mostly fast paced music (with lyrics).
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Don’t be afraid to dream big.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Don’t be afraid to go after things that are important to you, even if there are obstacles in the way.
