Interview with David Litwack, Author of The Maker of Worlds

26 Jun 2024

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write The Maker of Worlds?

If you had the chance to remake the world, what kind of world would you choose?

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

SciFi/Fantasy plus any good literary novel.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

Tom Lake, The Women, The Covenant of Water.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

Lucas and Mia’s final test from their mentor wizard.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

My bottom desk drawer is usually full of snacks, which my hand wanders to whenever I hit a block.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

Find something to do, someone to love, and something to hope for.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

As with magic, there are two sides to life: hope and despair. It may be a struggle but seek out and find hope.
