Interview with Dave Vizard, Author of A Murder at Cheeseburger

What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write this book?

Witnessing and being part of the wild, chaotic Cheeseburger in Caseville Festival convinced me that it could serve as a good cover for a complex murder plot. Everyone knows almost anything can happen at Cheeseburger—perhaps even murder.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of your book, what would they be?

Live and Let Die — Paul McCartney, James Bond.

What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

I like a wide mix of fiction, but I really enjoy a good mystery.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

The Widow by John Grisham; Not Quite Dead Yet by Holly Jackson.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

Carjacking by a teenager with a starter pistol.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

Motown as background music while writing, no other distractions.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

Importance of Whistle Blowers coming forward when they see illegal, unethical, or immoral conduct.
