Interview with Lola StVil, author of Need Me Like This
What can you tell us about your new release Hold Me Like This?
Honestly, This story is all about second chances and what would happen if you risked everything for the one that got away. Everyone has a past and sometimes you just have to face that past head on to be able to move onto the future.
If Hold Me Like This is turned into a movie, who would you pick to play the main characters?
I'm thinking someone young as they are early 20's so probably For the Holden I would say like Zac Efron or Liam Hemsworth and for Grey-- Victoria Justice, Lucy hale or maybe even Britt Robertson
Who is your favorite couple from literature?
A lot of people when they think literary couples automatically go to Romeo and Juliet But honestly I think my favorite couples are the ones you can actually relate to which is what I try to capture in my writing. A good Nicolas Sparks Couple Gets me every time. I think my favorite couple of his is Sophia and Luke from The Longest Ride.
What's on your writing desk?
Laptop, Phone, Ipad. and always snacks.
If you had to pick one place to vacation for the rest of your life, where would you choose?
I think either Italy or Ireland.
BAM. You're a superhero. What's your superpower?
Freeze time and everything around me. I would never have to worry about a deadline again. Take That ~S!
What scene in Hold Me Like This was your favorite to write?
The scene at the bar. I love the drama "I told you so moments, and the ones where the guys gets to show off his muscles and strength where only the girl can pull him out of his fit of rage.

Interview with B. K. Brain, author of Squaring the Circle
What can you tell us about your new release, Squaring the Circle?
Squaring the Circle is a technothriller, inspired by science-bending novels like Prey and Jurassic Park. It tells the stories of three primary characters:
The first is Eddie, a schizophrenic nineteen-year-old girl who encounters a new hallucination while shopping at a local bookstore. The Nothingman, a mysterious shadow that only she can see, has come with an odd question: What is her purpose?
The second is Doctor Sam Jacobson. He and his colleague, Leon Stakovsky, have created an advanced computer that utilizes quantum particles, Gravitons, to manipulate reality. They have no choice but to move the machine to a secret laboratory in rural Pennsylvania. A shadowy government agency sets out to find the scientists and their research materials at any cost.
The third is David Sandoval, producer of a once-popular science program. His show will come to an end after the current season. An exclusive offer from Dr. Jacobson, a researcher desperate to go public with an amazing cutting-edge technology, may be enough to change the network’s decision.
So that’s the basic setup of my book. As I’m sure readers will assume, when the three storylines collide things go very, very badly for everyone involved.
It was my goal to grab hold of the reader on page one and never let go, compelling him or her to turn pages by way of thrills, chills, humor and horror.
What or who inspired you to become an author?
I’ve already mentioned Michael Crichton’s books; his stories have influenced me for quite some time, as does the fiction of Stephen King, Christopher Moore, Kurt Vonnegut, Neil Gaiman, and many, many others.
What's on your top 5 list for the best books you've ever read?
That is a difficult question. I’ll mention five books here, because you asked, just so you know my favorites are always changing, depending on memory and current disposition. Each of these is special to me for different reasons.
The Stand, for its roster of intertwined and opposing characters. Jurassic Park, for all the speculative wonder and horrific consequence. Flowers for Algernon, for its narrative genius and heartbreaking conclusion. 1984, for its terrible visions of what could become all too real. And finally, Angels and Demons, for it’s beautifully-constructed ticking clock scenario.
I’m by no means suggesting these are the best books ever written, but each, in its own way, has taught me something I hold very dear -- How to be a better writer.
Say you’re the host of a literary talk show. Who would be your first guest? What would you want to ask?
Since this is purely hypothetical, my guest would be Kurt Vonnegut. I’d ask him to talk about writing for as long as he wanted. Then, I’d listen with a huge grin on my face.
What's your favorite thing about writing?
The pure, unhindered creation. My characters and worlds are mine alone. The situations, conflicts, and horrors are all controlled by me. The blank sheet is my playground and I am a cruel and nasty deity. I love it.
What is a typical day like for you?
I wake up, make coffee, go straight to my office, to my computer. From there it’s email, facebook, then word processor, in that order. I try to write as much as I can each day, although I do not adhere to any specific word count goals. Midafternoon to evening is for research, social media, and reading.
What scene in Squaring the Circle was your favorite to write?
There’s a scene where Sam uses his new technology to kill a man on a sidewalk by increasing the gravity below his feet. It is awful, gruesome, shocking. It reveals both character and consequence, ramping up tension as it thrusts the narrative pace. Don’t judge me. I just said I was a cruel and nasty deity.
Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?
I try to be unique in everything I write. I strive to give the reader an experience they’ve never encountered before. Whether it be word choice, sentence construction, plot device, or otherwise, I want to leave them with a feeling that they’ve just seen something totally new, something they wouldn’t have found anywhere else.
I’ll leave it to others to decide if I’ve been successful.

Interview with Sandi Lynn, author of One Night In Paris
What can you tell us about your new release One Night In Paris?
One Night In Paris is a beautiful romantic story that began with a one night stand between two strangers in Paris and then by the hand of fate were reunited in New York. The chemistry between Anna and Wes is off the charts, but they face a lot of challenges. Both Anna and Wes have major trust issues which plays a key role in their relationship. Overall, it’s a fun, sexy and romantic read.
What or who inspired you to become an author?
I’ve always written stories and poems ever since I was a child. I had won several young author awards in school as well as awards for my poetry. The one person who inspired me was an English professor of mine back in college. I had written a story as a class assignment and when he handed it back to me he asked me if I had ever thought of becoming a published author. So, a few years later, I decided to write and publish my first book, Forever Black.
What's on your top 5 list for the best books you've ever read?
The Notebook, Fifty Shades of Grey, Fall From Grace, Saving Grace and Gabriel’s Inferno.
Say you’re the host of a literary talk show. Who would be your first guest? What would you want to ask?
My first guest would be Nicholas Sparks. I love his work and the first thing I’d ask him is where he gets his inspiration from for his novels.
What's your favorite thing about writing?
My favorite thing about writing is being able to write a story that will whisk readers away into another world and from the daily grind of life – one book at a time.
What is a typical day like for you?
A typical day for me starts in the gym every single morning. I work out, run some errands, and then come home and get to writing and managing my business and my brand.
What scene in One Night In Paris was your favorite to write?
My favorite scene to write in One Night In Paris was the very beginning where Anna is walking down the aisle with her father, takes one look at her fiancé, turns around and runs away as fast as she could. I loved writing her strength to do what she needed to take control of her own life and stop doing what was expected of her.
Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?
“The greatest gifts in life are on the other side of fear.” I stick by that because I think fear is what holds people back from achieving their dreams.

Interview with Lauren Blakely, author of Best Laid Plans
What can you tell us about your new release, Best Laid Plans?
Best Laid Plans is a best friends to lovers romance meets lessons in seduction with a twist! The twist is the heroine wants the lessons to be, ahem, "hypothetical.' We'll see how that works!
Which book from your childhood or teenage years has stuck with you as an adult?
A River Runs Through It by Norman Maclean is my favorite book. It has so many great, yet subtle life lessons in it. True words to live by. My favorite is this one: "For it is true we can seldom help those closest to us. Either we don't know what part of ourselves to give or, more often than not, the part we have to give is not wanted. And so it is those we live with and should know who elude us. But we can still love them - we can love completely without complete understanding.”
Who is your favorite fictional character from literature?
Crookshanks from Harry Potter is pretty cool. But seriously, I'm a Harry Potter kind of gal. That story deserves every ounce of success and acclaim, and Harry is the wonderful reluctant hero, who embraces his fate.
Do you listen to anything while you write? If so, what's your audio of choice?
I can only listen to music when I need to drown out conversations, like at a coffee shop or an airplane. When I do, I usually listen to Broadway show tunes, like Hamilton, or songs from Matt Mathanson. I love him!
What scene in Best Laid Plans was your favorite to write?
The sex toy shopping scene was so fun! Fiery and sexy and with a slow burn that sizzles!
