Interview with Olga Tymofiyeva, Author of Just City
What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Just City?
It all started with John Rawls' mind-blowing "veil of ignorance" thought experiment. I learned about it from Professor Michael Sandel’s lectures on “Justice,” which are available online for free. Originally, when I came up with the idea for the game, I wanted to create an actual VR game. Then a board game. But later I came up with a realistic, low-budget version: writing a book.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Just City, what would they be?
Obviously, “Twenty-Something” by Pet Shop Boys for Nathan! Ha-ha
What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
Non-fiction: Philosophy, Self-Help, Personal Transformation
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
Meditations by Marcus Aurelius
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
Definitely, the fight between Nathan and Jack.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
Writing in hotels. You can book a hotel for day use.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Not surprisingly, it’s in “Just City.” A quote by Professor Robert Sapolsky: "You don’t have to choose between being scientific and being compassionate."
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
See previous question.

Interview with Kirsten Pursell, Author of Long Enough to Love You
What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Long Enough to Love You?
Life! I am an empty nester and struggled with my place in life and in my marriage. Finding my own diaries (then publishing my memoir based off them) gave me the idea for Tripp. Soul searching complicated by a first love felt like the perfect storm for a fictional book about self-discovery.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Long Enough to Love You, what would they be?
I created a whole playlist for this book! For the parts between Jenn and Tripp, I think the one that really fits is "Kiss Me" by Dermot Kennedy.
What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
I love to read historical fiction, but I don't think I could write it. I love writing women's fiction and romance.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
The Memory Keeper of Kyiv by Erin Litteken and Getting Lost by Annie Ernaux (a mentor compared me to her!)
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
This was such an emotional book to write, but I think the scenes between Jenn and Tripp because they were simultaneously beautiful and heartbreaking.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I am constantly sending myself emails when I get a thought about something I want to write or the words finally come to me on how to say something. Those moments don't usually happen in front of the computer!
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Yes! "Do things things that you're scared to do...Take your life and make it the best story in the world."
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
It takes courage to be true to yourself, and that it's never too late for second chances.

Interview with Sophia Stone, Author of Unpyre Revelations
What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Unpyre Revelations (Unpyre Chronicles Book One )?
I started the planning of the book shortly after I’d finished my first series (Merlyn Academy). I really wanted to experiment with a dual point of view and my two main characters, Tia and Chyros, just jumped out for me. They were a welcome distraction from the on and off lockdowns!
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Unpyre Revelations (Unpyre Chronicles Book One ), what would they be?
On My Way- Alan Walker
What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
A tie between YA and Historical Fiction.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
The Hunger Games Series!
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
When the two main characters first meet.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I can’t seem to write without a cup of coffee. There’s something about the smell that gets me into ‘writer’ mode.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
I quite like the Stoic philosophy for life.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
That everyone is redeemable if they truly want to change
Sophia Stone is the author of the new book Unpyre Revelations (Unpyre Chronicles Book One )

Interview with Tyrolin Puxty, Author of Immortal Cells
What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Immortal Cells?
It came from a one-liner from my comedy series, Colt Harper: Esteemed Vampire Cat. He mentioned he 'would hate to be thrown into the Immortal Cells.' It was a line I forgot about until a family member mentioned it. They said for a one-liner, they were keen to know more about these immortal prisons. The story flashed before my eyes and next thing I knew, I was immersed in a brand new world!
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Immortal Cells, what would they be?
Yassss, best question EVER. "Start A War" by Klergy. It was streaming on a random playlist while I was writing and I thought, "wow, what a great theme song".
What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
I tend to write more than I read and I definitely don't read much of the genre I write. I'm currently binging Black Crouch's back catalogue, if that gives you an indication.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
We shouldn't talk about this...it's getting too long. I'm already cheating on several books by reading them at the same time. Don't tell them.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
Any scene with massive character development. I love seeing how my characters will react to a situation and how they interact with one another. I always feel like they're the ones controlling the story; not me.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I've recently had a baby, so all my writing habits have gone out the window. I used to procrastinate for an hour, find the right music, pop on my writing gloves, find the cat and write. Now, it's: "the baby is asleep?! I have fifteen minutes to get this idea down! Go go go!"
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
If it makes you happy, then you succeeded already.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
One person's villain is somebody else's hero.
