Interview with Angelica DeVine, Author of The Billionaire's One-Night Rendezvous
What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write The Billionaire's One-Night Rendezvous?
When I decided the location of this story was going to take place in Cape Canaveral, Florida, I knew It had to have a story that was related to “NASA,” stars, and the universe. Astrology is something I have always been drawn to and yes, I own a telescope!
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of The Billionaire's One-Night Rendezvous, what would they be?
There are ENDLESS songs that would relate to this book, not necessarily just to each individual character. Here are just a few that come to mind. For Lizzy, ”The Power Of Love” by Celine Dion. For Kevin “The Final Countdown" by Europe. The story in general, “Love Conquers All'' by Deep Purple, “Fly Me To The Moon'' by Frank Sinatra, "All Of The Stars" by Ed Sheeran, "Drops of Jupiter'' by Train, “A Sky Full of Stars" by Coldplay, “Counting Stars" by One Republic. I could go on and on!
What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
To be honest, I don’t read as much as one might think. I’m focused on creating my own stories at the moment. However, I am a hopeless romantic so I guess that’s why I write in the Romance genre (blush). A little Fantasy is also a good thing!
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
Shall I say “A rendezvous at the museum.”
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
(YOLO) You only live once. So have fun while you are here. Life is way too short.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Remember ME! (giggle) Seriously, just love and respect one another. LOVE Conquers All.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

Interview with Jack Wallace, Author of No Good Deed
What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write No Good Deed?
Several years ago, I read in our Nashville newspaper about a raid on the Golden Massage, a spa was located in a commercial strip mall in a tony area known as Green Hills. This massage parlor advertised its services through Backpage ads for “massages by pretty Asian girls.” Police raided four establishments that day and arrested ten women. The spas were owned by a Chinese man living locally in a large house. Some of the women lived in that house, others lived illegally at the spas. Most of the women spoke little English, had no identification, and could not identify the town where they were living. The women were bailed out and soon disappeared.
As I followed the story over several days, it was clear they had been trafficked across other cities since arriving in the U.S. With a bit of research, I learned their story was a familiar pattern of sex trafficking women from China, South Korea, and other countries to cities across the U.S., Canada, and throughout Europe.
From this real-life incident came the idea of No Good Deed, the fictional story about a man who unintentionally becomes involved in helping a Korean woman escape from traffickers.
What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
I read many genres, including literary, mystery/thriller, and history. I’ve written mystery/thrillers and also mainstream fiction.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
I have new books TBR by CJ Box, John Sandford, and Jonathan Kellerman. I am currently reading Anne Lamott’s new book: Somehow: Thoughts on Love.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
The last scene with Kim in San Francisco.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I do my best writing in the early morning hours with a good cup of coffee, and with my Lucy, my red Lab, parked at my feet.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Always do the right thing, no matter the cost. Doing the wrong thing will ultimately cost you more.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
The exploitation of the vulnerable is a horrific crime and erodes your humanity. Sex trafficking is particularly heinous.

Interview with Kerry Hilton, Author of Sephie Weaver and the Supermagical Purse
What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Sephie Weaver and the Supermagical Purse?
Having grown up in a household of brothers, and then having two boys of my own, it was a real curiosity for me when my daughter Skye came along. As many fathers and daughters will do, we formed an impenetrable bond. She was my princess, and I played the part of the good king—though later in life I became the rotten villain who had placed a curfew over the palace. As a young child, Skye instinctively picked up one of her mother’s purses and poured through its infinite pockets of storage, pretending that it bestowed powers beyond the natural world. Thus, the idea for an enchanted purse was born. Over the years I developed the concept and the characters and watched it grow into a story where the impossible becomes possible thanks to magic and imagination.
What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
I love fiction that keeps you thinking throughout the journey with big surprises along the way.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
I'm rereading one of the classics by Lois Lowry (Number the Stars).
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
The scene when the meaning of the purse is finally revealed.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I write late at night with headphones and loud rock and roll music driving me through the night.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Don't think. Write.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Anything is possible with perseverance.
