Interview with N R Emerald, Author of Philippe's Heart

What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Philippe's Heart?

Watching two unlikely people come together and navigate the hand they've been dealt.

What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

Love a good mafia romance... good plot... not heavy on the sex.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

Scorned Love, The Divorce Lawyer, Cold Hearted Cassanova and many more.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

The scene at the altar, when Philippe asked the priest a question, you'll have to read to find out.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

Lots of coffee. Nothing unusual.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

A mistake is only a mistake, if you don't learn from it.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

Life doesn't always give us the things we think we want, but just maybe, it is actually what we need.

Interview with Dave Rogers, Author of Marta (Vol I)

What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Marta (Vol I)?

While I always pictured myself writing, I never felt I had what it took. This book started as journals for my therapist, who thought I had an interesting story to tell. For years I went back and forth over the idea of actually putting them together in a book. Never really sure if people would want to read about my life as a homeless youth. One day I got the courage to send a few chapters to an editor friend of mine who liked the way I described my journey and the insight put into life in NYC during that time. It gave me the courage to go forward with this book, and start my writing journey.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Marta (Vol I), what would they be?

"Thunder" by Imagine Dragons.

What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

I am mostly into horror fiction and real crime stories. While I have just started getting serious about writing, other than this series I have only written short stories of horror fiction which I hope to turn into a book of short stories.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

I am rereading the Good Earth, a favorite of mine, but I also just picked up the new Stephen King book "You Like it Darker". I have always been a fan of his works.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

I would say the opening scene, it is a great description of my relationship with Marta, and sets a tone for the rest of Vol. I.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

My service dog “Grunt” likes to lay on my feet when I sit at my desk. That warmth on my feet is very comforting and allows me to relax as I write my chapters.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

“Even ordinary life can be immortalized through art.” – Dave Rogers

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

Life is not “It is what it is” life is what you make of it.

Interview with Freddie Awuah-Gyasi, Author of Money Skills for Teens and Young Adults

What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Money Skills for Teens and Young Adults?

Growing up, conversations about money were often limited to expenses or the lack thereof. I noticed a significant gap in financial education, especially for teens and young adults. This inspired me to write a book that provides practical, easy-to-follow guidance on managing money effectively. My goal is to equip the younger generation with the skills they need to make informed financial decisions and build a solid foundation for their future.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Money Skills for Teens and Young Adults, what would they be?

Ancient Words - Michael Smith

What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

I enjoy reading self-help and educational books, especially those focused on personal development and financial literacy. This aligns perfectly with my writing, as I aim to create content that empowers readers with practical knowledge and skills.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

"Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki, "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey, and "Atomic Habits" by James Clear.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

My favorite scene to write was the section on setting financial goals. It was rewarding to break down complex financial concepts into simple, actionable steps that readers can easily implement. This chapter is pivotal in helping readers understand the importance of goal-setting and how it can lead to long-term financial success.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I enjoy writing with a cup of herbal tea by my side. It helps me stay focused and relaxed. Occasionally, I also like to play soft instrumental music in the background to stimulate my creativity.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

"Your destiny takes form in your teen years. Lay the foundation for a thriving future." This philosophy drives my passion for educating teens and young adults about financial literacy.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

I want readers to remember that financial literacy is the key to unlocking their potential and achieving financial freedom. It's not just about earning money; it's about making your money work for you.
