Interview with Lucy Monroe, Author of Forced Vows (Syndicate Rules Book 6)

What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Forced Vows (Syndicate Rules Book 6)?

When I wrote Urgent Vows (his brother's story) I knew Miceli would be in a forced/arranged marriage situation, but I wasn't ready to write his book right away. I absolutely love both reading and writing arranged marriages, especially if there's some tension involved and enemies to lovers is definitely that. A lot happens in the New York Cosa Nostra in this book, so I had to wait to write it even though readers really wanted me to give them Miceli's story. I think it will be worth the wait to them though.

What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

Steamy Romance. I'm firm believer in writing a story I want to read, so I write in the genre I love most, though as a voracious bookworm, I read in a lot of other genres as well.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

My top three on the towering stack are 'Down 'n Dirty Dog' by Eve Black, 'Mafia Kings: Dario' by Olivia Thorn & 'Depraved' by Arianna Fraser.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

That is such a hard question because I totally fall in love with my characters and love spending time in their world with them. Maybe the scene where Roise adopts a cat from the shelter with the big, tough mafia underboss.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

No quirky habits, but I love to write outside when I can.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

People are complicated and nobody's perfect, but we all deserve love.

Interview with Kristy Dixon, Author of Trapped in Once Upon a Time

What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Trapped in Once Upon a Time?

This book can be read as a standalone or as the second book in my Once Upon a Time series. I hadn’t planned on writing a sequel to the first book but my readers loved the world so much, and it was so fun to write, so I turned it into a series. I spent a few years making these stories up in my head, so it was fun to get them out there.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Trapped in Once Upon a Time, what would they be?

"Lost in the Woods"

What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

I like to read romance worked into other genres. I do like to read young adult, but I prefer to write it.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

'Cinderella and the Colonel', 'Beasts and Blades', 'The Rose Kiss'.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

When Lottie needed to kiss the beast and she didn't want to. I always enjoy writing funny scenes.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I have a blue mug with a moose on it that I drink hot chocolate from while I'm writing. The temperature is in the hundreds, and I'm still drinking hot chocolate.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

"Have Courage and be Kind." - from the live action Cinderella

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

Second chances can be magical.

Interview with Natoya Wayne, Author of Forbidden Earth Angel

What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Forbidden Earth Angel?

I was inspired to write Forbidden Earth Angel because of my obsession of mythology, legends and folklore. As a SAG-AFTRA stunt performer, I have seen many shows and films explored the sub genre of paranormal fantasy romance so I was inspired to write my own book series with fresh original ideas. My favorite TV shows like Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Lucifer and Supernatural have also worked with my muse of inspiration to spark my creativity.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Forbidden Earth Angel, what would they be?

I would say for the main female character her theme song will be “Like a Prayer” by Madonna, “Elastic heart’ by Sia.

As for the main male character his theme song will be “Rolling in the Deep”, or “Closer” by Nine Inch Nails,

What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

I like Paranormal Fantasy Romances, Paranormal Fantasy, Paranormal contemporary, fantasy, action & adventure, thrillers and horrors.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

I have 'Fire and Blood' by George R Martin, 'Lorien Legacies' by Pittacus Lore, and 'Poison Sun' by Michelle Madow.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

The favorite scene I enjoyed writing was when the main character female found out the true identity of the main character male. Her reactions were priceless and had a bit of humor.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I like to drink black tea, red wine and have something playing on TV as background noise to write. I feel I can only write late at nights mostly because that is when my muse of inspiration Callioppe seems to inspire me.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

“If your path leads you to walk through hell, walk like you own the place.” “To win, You must be prepared to do the impossible.” “Jade must be chiseled before it can become a gem.” “Anything that costs you your mental health is too expensive.”

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

These angels are not your bible angels. Do not compare these angels to what is written in religious texts and books. Be patient because a much darker sequel is in the works.

Interview with Martin V. Parece II, Author of Bound by Flame: The Chronicle of Thyss

What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Bound By Flame: The Chronicle of Thyss?

Thyss is a supporting character in my original fantasy series (The Cor Chronicles). It seemed that everyone loved her. She's sexy, strong, deadly, strong willed, maybe brash, but intensely loyal and loving to those who deserve it. One particular fan (she knows who she is) berated me for her backstory for years!

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Bound By Flame: The Chronicle of Thyss, what would they be?

A mix of "I Am the Fire" by Halestorm and "Burn It Down" by Avenged Sevenfold.

What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

Fantasy, Horror, Sci-Fi, or any crossover thereof. They're what I grew up on and still what I love to read and write.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

'Conan: City of the Dead' by Hocking, and 'Beyond the Gate and Inside the Asylum' by Mary San Giovanni among about 45 other titles!

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

Without spoiling too much - the battle by the river. Thyss was her typical fiery self, but it was bolstered by a need for revenge and justice. In the end, the one person she needed to save didn't make it. She didn't know how to make sense of the sorrow she felt. She couldn't cry, so I cried for her.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

Does staring at the ceiling count? No? If I catch myself scrolling the internet for any reason other than research, I have to do 15 curls.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

Metallica came out with a song called Lux Aeterna last year. It's actually a very joyous, uplifting song about finding that which makes us better. There's a refrain in that song - Full speed or nuthin', Full speed or nuthin'!

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

It's not our greatest successes that help us grow but our greatest losses.

Interview with Alan Brenham, Author of Breaking Silence (the Claire Deveraux Series Book 3)

What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Breaking Silence (The Claire Deveraux Series Book 3)?

Years ago, I lost my older brother. I wanted to write a story about a lost brother found.

What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

My favorite genre to read is crime fiction and it is the same genre that I prefer to write.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

My next read is titled 'Finding Claire Fletcher' by Lisa Regan.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

The last one- I won't ruin the story for readers with the details.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I have two main ones - listening to a variety of music and nibbling on snacks.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

My main philosophy of life is to treat others as I would want to be treated.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

The one thing I would want readers of Breaking Silence to remember is that sibling love is one of the strongest emotions on Earth.
