What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write this book?
The story is about a group of boys, headed by Finn Mullaney, who end up running a ‘business’ in school, selling hall and restroom passes and answers to test questions.
What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
Most of the works I read are crime fiction. The same genre that I write.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
My favorite scene is when Alan Kelly and his pals attempt to attack Finn and his pals in the cafeteria. That turns out to be a big mistake, and Kelly and his pals end up in the principal’s office with their parents. While Kelly is in the office, Finn uses a passkey to get into Kelly’s locker. He takes all sorts of files with test answers, along with a set of keys to all the school offices, basically taking over Kelly’s criminal organization.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
A lesson I learned from a high school English teacher: “At some point, you have to sit down in the chair and get the work done.”

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Finn Mullaney is a very nice person, and the basis of all four books in the series is that Finn stepped in to help Kenji, the new kid in school, when Alan Kelly and his gang threatened him. That led to a wonderful friendship and the start of the ‘business’.
