What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write this book?
I really wanted to have fun with fantastical animals that can speak and bond with humans, as well as hidden magic. And the enemies-to-lovers trope is one of my favourites, so I mixed it all together and ended up with this story!
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of your book, what would they be?
All of the main characters have moments of shaking their thang. Their theme song would definitely be “Go Down Deh” by Spice (featuring Sean Paul and Shaggy).
What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
Gay romantasy and gay romantic comedy all the way. Low stakes, lots of love, and happily-ever-afters.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
Gary of a Hundred Days by Isabel Murray… It just showed up in the mail, so it’s my weekend read!
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
Pretty much every scene where the main characters got to snuggle.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I buy a new keyboard every time I finish a book. Creamy or thocky sounds just hit me in the brainstem and send me to other worlds. Bliss!
Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?
Nah, I believe we continue to change as we learn, so I’m constantly growing.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
I think it would be the world I’ve created. I wouldn’t mind living there myself!
