Interview with David Barrett-Murrer, Author of Kindred Spirits

What's the story behind the story? What inspired you to write this book?

After watching the TV drama Boy Meets Girl, featuring Rachael Stirling and Martin Freeman, I wrote Kindred Spirits. This work is a real-life drama that explores how their shared soul gains experience in the physical world.

What's your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

I’ve always been fascinated by paranormal and spiritual genres, and I write within these genres based on my own experiences. The aim is to entertain and share this knowledge with others.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

The final reincarnation scene.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I begin with an idea, develop the characters, and let them create the story. Then my wonderful wife handles copy-editing and promotion.

Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?

Every day is a bonus.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

All my stories explore paranormal and spiritual themes while celebrating the wonder of living in this physical reality.
