Interview with Tabatha Kiss, author of Pretty Little Thing

11 Dec 2017

What can you tell us about your new release, Pretty Little Thing?

Pretty Little Thing is the first book in my new romance series about three wealthy, single women in Chicago. On the surface they have everything, but deep down, they each have something they’re missing out on or they’ve let pass them by. This book centers on Nora, the founder and CEO of a dating website, whose own love life is practically non-existent until her new temp, Clive, walks into her office and shows her what she’s been missing. It’s a fun and hilarious workplace romance that’s also twisted in the best ways.

What or who inspired you to become an author?

Storytelling has always been my number one passion. It honestly never occurred to me to become anything else. Except for that time when I was three when I wanted to become a mermaid but that was just a phase.

What books are currently on your nightstand?

Darker by EL James and The Nerdy Nummies Cookbook by Rosanna Pansino.

What’s your favorite thing about writing?

The reactions from readers. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve received an email that brought me to tears. Emails from people I’ve never met who read my work and just had to reach out and thank me. It’s really quite amazing.

Say you’re the host of a literary-themed talk show. Who would be your first guest? What would you ask that person?

I’d invite Jacqueline Carey and ask when the Kushiel’s Legacy TV show is happening. (Please, oh please!)

BAM. You’re a superhero. What’s your superpower?

Eating as many carbs as I want without gaining weight.

What scene in Pretty Little Thing was your favorite to write?

The naughty office fantasy comes true in Chapter 29. Constantly turning the tables on Nora and Clive is probably the most fun I’ve ever had as an author.

Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?

The best revenge is massive success.
