Interview with Larry Jordan, Author of Pathic

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Pathic?

Generally, I’m a lover of sci-fi books. But I would say the building of lightsabers was the start. My nieces and nephews asked if I had names for them. Then they suggested I should create characters for each one. The book idea came about while my wife fought cancer.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Pathic, what would they be?

Rocket Man by Elton John!

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

I am more of a movie and Tv person. If I’m going to read a book, I will listen to an audiobook. But I prefer science fiction and westerns.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

Star trek and Star Wars audiobooks. I have a collection of hundreds of DVDs made from some of the greatest books.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

I like to do action scenes. But I enjoy writing the scenes where my characters personalities conflict with each other. Also, the parts that leave you thinking and give it a little more mystery…

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

None, I write a lot in my favorite brew pub called Barsidious brewing. I have my spot there and it’s away from home, and the phone, and household distractions.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

I would hope they would remember relationships between the characters.
