What can you tell us about your new release, The Truth That Hides?

The Truth That Hides follows the story of Jack, who works for a mysterious employer. He’s generally going through the everyday drudgery of life, but at his core has a curious spirit and thirst for exploration. I don’t want to say too much, but after a series of encounters he begins to unveil the truth about his life. If you like a combination of thrilling scenes mixed in with plenty of conspiracy, you’ll undoubtedly enjoy this book.

What’s the last book you read?

The Girl With All The Gifts by M.R. Carey

What or who inspired you to become an author?

In the 2nd grade, I wasn’t doing too well in school, so it was suggested I see an after-school tutor. After my tutor helped finish my homework, I would have free, quiet time to do creative writing. I’ve been writing ever since then.

You’re hosting a literary dinner party. Which three writers are invited?

Stephen King, Dan Brown, and Paul Hawkins.

What’s your favorite thing about writing?

My favorite part of writing is in constructing themes. Most of my books have strong thematic undertones because I believe we’re impacted more through story than say by watching the news or reading regurgitated information. It’s a lot of fun to speculate potential real-world scenarios, build a world around what you imagine, and hopefully entertain people in the process.

BAM. You’re a superhero. What’s your superpower?

My favorite superhero growing up was Batman, so I’ve never put much thought into which superpower I’d wish to have. He’s just a normal guy who grinds it out, is great with gadgets, and has an extreme discipline and will to help humanity. Plus, he plays to my naivete that superheroes might actually be a real-world possibility. Oh, and he has billions of dollars of funds, which might just help a little bit.

What scene in The Truth That Hides was your favorite to write?

My favorite part to write in this book was the Prologue. As this is book one in a series, it was fun coming up with a story that would set the tone for everything that’s to come.

Do you have a motto, quote or philosophy you live by?

We all face adversity from time to time, and I particularly faced some tough life challenges in my early years, so I developed a philosophy that “there always is a way.” The more times I repeat this in my mind when a problem arises, the more I feel that I spontaneously find creative solutions to that problem.
